    Hi
    Looking for planar 1 & pre-amp & amp & speakers
    or
    Project primary e & pre-amp & amp & speakers

Presume the planar 1 is worth the extra over the primary e?

Not wanting to go big money for pre-amp & amp & speakers - one or two options will suffice.

    Thanks

    PJ

    Hi PJ.

For me it would be the Planar 1. (I purchased one myself a few years ago and love it).

There are many many options from £500-£600 up to £15000 - £2000 , if you give me an idea of total budget I can put a few together for you.

The most suitable setup with the Planar 1 would be something like the:

    Cambridge CXA60 priced at £599
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-201266-cambridge-cxa60-black-stereo-amplifier.aspx

The Rega Planar 1 coming in at £249.00

You would also require a phono stage. Rega have their own Fono mini MK2 priced at £89
    http://www.rega.co.uk/fono-mini-a2d.html

For speaker to compliment this setup you would be looking at the Monitor Audio Silver 50's or 100's.
    Silver 50's priced at £499
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-202734-monitor-audio-silver-50-black-black-oak-speakers-per-pair.aspx

    Silver 100's priced at £649
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-202739-monitor-audio-silver-100-black-oak-speakers-per-pair.aspx

I could offer the following bundle price on them:
    CXA60, Planar 1, Fono mini with Silver 50's = £1220 delivered.

    CXA60, Planar 1, Fono mini with Silver 100's = £1350 delivered.

The only other items you would require would be speaker cable and perhaps a 2ph - 2ph for connecting the phono stage to the CXA60. (The Planar one is hardwired with its own phono cables).

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Roger,

I have just noticed that you specified a pre-amp is this for the Planar 1?  - do you already have a power amp as Kenny has quoted for an integrated amp or is it an integrated amp that you need?

Hope there is no mix-up but keep me posted and we will look after it for you ;)

PS the Planar is head and shoulders above the Primary E ( IMO ) AND if you are looking at the Planar 1 - I'd also recommend that you look at the Planar Plus which essentially is the Planar 1 with a built in phono pre-amp - the reviews all say its actually better than the Planar 1 with outboard per-amp:

    Keep us posted,
