Hi I want to host an under age disco by renting a venue. I was wondering what licencing I would need to do this or is it covered by the venue. Thanks

No bother, just screenshot me your credit card details there. Don't forget the 3 digits on the back. I'll sort the rest.

No licence would allow a junior disco after hours.

I used to run a venue that catered to underage gigs so have some experience here.

The venue should have a separate Music and Singing Licence, and Dance Licence. That said I suspect not all do, especially for one off events. But the licences state the number of occupants that can be there for fire safety so are important. The fire brigade or Gardaí can shut down events that don't comply. There should also be a number of trained fire wardens present but normally the venue would be able to provide that. Check with the venue they should have this information.

The other licence issue is security (you or the venue will need to organise this, not a legal requirement but trust me) and all security people need to be registered and licensed by the PSA.

You're gonna need a delorean and a flux capacitor if you want to have a "disco".

If there's no booze its just a party.

    No licence required.
