    Hey,

I just wanted to get your opinions on a price I got for repair work needed on one of the cars.

Replace outer CV boot and LH and RH handbrake cables replaced and adjusted.

    €340 including 3.5 hours labour.

    Does this sound reasonable?

Including the parts or only the labor? Only labor it is too high. Now my "fan club" makes a noise, how I ruin their business :P

If you need parts, I can make a reasonable calculation, only need the car VIN number.

That's not the case. It's just difficult because you keep quoting insanely cheap prices for stuff as if they are the norm and suggesting anything above your price as "crazy". To me this is bad advice as 99% of people wont be able to find these prices in real life and will then feel robbed when in fact they paid a reasonable price.

It's hard to comment on a good price OP until you let us know at least the make and model.

Not knowing what the car is, that's very reasonable considering a main dealer will charge €340 plus VAT for 3.5 hours labour alone. Add in each cable (€65-110) each, and the CV boot will be €50 depending on car then you're over €700 alone.

You can go the €15 all in for parts and €26.89 for labour as suggested by the bloke above, but be wary of quality and brand :)

That is why I asked more information. All in one may sounds reasonable, only labor are bit too much for 3.5 hour. Sure that 3.5 hours can not be solid, it can ends somewhere 7 hours.

Thanks for all the replies folks. Seems it’s a good price.

Someone said to me the 3.5 hours seemed excessive for the job so just wanted to check.

Only labor are expensive. This is not such hard job what can cost that money. I am sure you can find the cheaper offer
