My sibling works Saturdays and has a weekday off instead.
What happens when a bank holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday? do they get an addition day off?

Does she normally work Monday? If a bank holiday falls on the weekend it changes to a bank holiday Monday. If she works Monday usually she gets that day off.

Your sibling needs to talk to her employer about this.

She will be entitled to one of the following:

    - A paid day off on the public holiday
    - An additional day of annual leave
    - An additional day's pay
    - A paid day off within a month of the public holiday

The boss is known to have a variable attitude to bank holidays off, they work Mon to wed, Thur to Sat. Thats why they are confused as to entitlement when the holiday falls during the week.
