I have been on Disability Allowance for 9 years and have never been called in for a review, is this normal, could I expect a review in the future and what would it consist of, does anyone know?

Perfectly normal and you may never be called for a review.
If your circumstances have changed in any way since you were awarded DA then your legally obliged to inform them of the nature and date of the change.

Thank you for the reply, is there anyone else that has been on Disability Allowance for a log time without being checked?

My sister is on DA and for a while she was reviewed every six months but it has been at least 8 or 9 years now since she was reviewed

Do you mind if I ask was it just in the beginning that she was reviewed and was it a medical review or a means test review?

When you are awarded the DA you agree to inform the dept of any change in your circumstances. This includes a financial change. If you don’t inform them this is punishable by fine or imprisonment.

No it was well on into her illness and it was a means test review

Does this happen often that people that have been on it for years can suddenly be called in for regular reviews even if their condition has not changed?

Essentially yes you can be reviewed at any time ,you might get reviewed once or more often depending on what the dept wants
