Jury service-can I still serve if excused by right?

Hoping someone might have an answer for this. I’ve received jury summons and am happy to attend , however I served on a jury 2 years ago, and summons says that anyone who has served in the last 3 years is excused by right. I know there are people who are not eligible or disqualified from serving on a jury, and that if they were to serve it could mess up a whole court case, however is that the same for someone who is just excused by right?
Like I said, I’m happy to attend and serve again, and can do so without any difficulty, but I wouldn’t want to be the cause for a mistrial.

I can call the courthouse tomorrow but just wanted to see if anyone here had an answer first. Thanks :)

If you are happy to do it what is the issue?.It wont cause a mistrial.
Call the court secretary. Explain it to him, that you have previously served.
I got called up 3 times and got out of it everytime (I would have to travel 40 miles a day for an undetermined time).
    They are really understanding.
My girlfriend loves to do it every two years. She gets called but never put on the jury.
I wouldnt trust 12 men who werent smart enough to get out of jury duty.

I'm guessing there are plenty intelligent men capable of getting out of jury duty but don't as they see it as some form of civic duty......hell what with it being 2019 the may also even be women of similar ilk

Thanks, I would definitely like to do it again. I found the last experience really interesting, especially as we were divided over the outcome. Amazing that everyone hears exactly the same evidence but yet don’t take the same thing from it... I guess that’s the point though!

I’ll be calling the courthouse tomorrow but relieved to know that it shouldn’t be an issue if I did serve.

    Sorry Correct quote:
"When you go into court you are putting your fate into the hands of twelve people who weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty. (Quote by - Norm Crosby)"

I have done my civic duty in my life when I was younger. I dont have time to waste on convicts and hear from lawyer on Free Legal Aid on how the defendant end up on heroin, when I could be developing myself.
