Avoid juratek and blueprint, these are complete garbage.
    Take a brembo, trw, bosch
You have a expensive car, do not buy a garbage brake systems. I know many of good brands are not available on Ireland or cost way too much compared by other EU countries. Here is the best part, you can order by online or pm

Very hard to beat genuine parts, I would be inclined to get a price from Toyota for some. You know they will fit and perform.

The genuine are Sumitomo brake system, but I even can not find these on regular car parts shops.
Anyway the genuine parts are for very rich people. Hundreds of euros for brake pads, not very cheap.

Thats a bit of an exaggeration, the genuine ones can be brought for much less than hundreds.

Because these are available only for dealers, it can cost what ever price. At least I did not find these from any car parts shop on Ireland or UK.

to be fair, you've dismissed the genuine items with factual evidence that they are unreasonably expensive.

I'd say you'd be pleasantly surprised if you priced them from Toyota, they are often reasonable for service consumables.

The land cruiser are not toyota prius, what needs the miniature brake pads.

That car brakes cost over 100eur on dealer, not Irish dealer (add more euros for air). Add the labor and it cost around 200eur.
The good brembo pads cost less than half

Of that list Ferodo, Mintex or Brembo would be my choices.

    Why are you mentioning fitting?

You've just made those prices up.

What part you did not like?
Edit: The price? The availability? The labor cost? The prius? You can not ignore, the land cruiser are the big heavy car.

Personally, the part where you made up the price of the main dealer parts, the part where you only mentioned fitting costs in relation to the main dealer part to make it look subjectively worse and also the part where you offered to allow OP to order parts via PM.

Is it lighter when you order spurious parts or what?

That specific car brakes are expensive, if you select the genuine! CJhaughey starts that genuine part. This is the other league than standard premium stuff. The premium ones works well and are half price compared by genuine. Show to me any dealer workshop price what are cheap

Dealers are competing for business and are often priced better than people expect. Of course it's somewhat a generalisation but it's somewhat factual too.

You have to understand though, that you're just pulling numbers and statements out of the air as if they are fact.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 416 ✭✭w211

At the moment is bit late but I take a look tomorrow about flat rate for specific model. It is not way cheaper like you say.
Edit: I spent little time and my number was bit high, sorry. 135eur are on local dealer. Very good value because the genuine pads itself cost over 100eur.

w211 I think you are just spamming this forum to drum up business for yourself while masquerading as doing someone a favour.
I have priced Genuine pads at a lot less than 100 in fact if you know what you are looking for in terms of part numbers it becomes easier to find genuine parts at very reasonable prices.
OP didn't give the year or model of TLC to narrow a selection but I'd be very confident that I would be able to find some genuine pads for less than €100

Who baits you? By the way, I do not use the microsoft products at all. Only the double click... sometime. Linux are free from viruses
EDIT: yes I made the mistake on price estimation and I correct it. It should be the happy message to get the cheaper price (higher value), but you are sad. I made the load of price estimations to show everyone, they need keep looking the cheaper price (higher value). Do not mix it by scrap, the scrap remains scrap even if it is very cheap. What is scrap, please read from beginning of the thread. Sorry if you feel offense or some how touched.

It seems that my previous post has been deleted, anyhow just to confirm I sourced Toyota brake pads in UK - pads cost £64.80 + £16.74 delivery total £81.54 sterling - roughly €97.00

In case of any misunderstanding I did not doubt you or the prices you quoted at any time. I merely stated the price I paid for supply & delivery only as it may be of benefit to someone else on here. I find this forum very helpful so I try to do my little bit when I can.
Bye the way I will be fitting the pads myself so no labour charge.

Probably could have gone with addresspal or parcel motel to get the postage down a fair bit.But the extra is well worth it to avoiding dealing with micks.
