Kodiaq has more space, Tiguan has more kit. What's more important to you?

I would imagine the Tiguan would depreciate more on the basis of it being a 5 seater, and a newer 7 Seat Allspace being available?

A couple of Skoda dealers mentioned to me that the Kodiaq 5 seaters (which were €1,000 cheaper than the 7 seater when new) are tremendously difficult to shift on the second hand market and are needing to be heavily discounted. Not many people want a 5 seater when a 7 seater version is available.

Skoda dealer told me a few months back that a two year old five seater kodiaq is worth less than 20 k

Complete BS in my opinion, personally I'd prefer a five seater as I value cargo space

The €20k figure is a BS figure, but I do think that in that segment it is a brave person who opts for a 5 seater when a 7 seater is available for little extra. If somebody is happy with a 5 seater, it opens up far more options, even at a segment lower. IMO there is a danger the 5 Seat Tiguan gets demoted by the buyer closer to the class of Karoq/Quashqai when it gets bought used.

Went with the kodiaq in the end. Got a good spec for same price as r line. I don’t have the fancy toys but this will me my 4th skoda and I’m very happy with them. Your getting a lot more car for your euro with the skoda I think. It’s just a pity the Tiguan is so overpriced but you only paying for the badge on the bonnet
