Kitchen Extension

We just moved into our new (second hand) home. We want to extend and redo the kitchen as soon as possible (Cork area).

The only problem is, we have absolutely no idea what contractors/vendors we need to hire. We have an engineering firm lined up but that's all. What else do we need before people start rolling in with building materials?

Also, are there companies that can deal with most of the project management overhead for us? We're after the kind of process where one or two people drop by the house, we have a design for the final build produced, we tweak it a little and then it gets executed for us.

This probably comes off as very naive, which it is, but we want to get moving fast.

P.S. Don't anticipate planning permission will be required, no existing extensions, will be rear of the property on the ground floor ~10sqm.

Your engineer should be able to manage the process for you, including tendering to small builders etc.
