motorcyclists behaviour out for their sunday drive

So I just got overaken this morning by a pack of 8 motorcyclists in high powered bikes out for a sunday drive.. the thing is it was a 60k zone and they were doing well over that and accelerating...and one nearly clipped me trying to swerve back into the lane to avoid an obstacle on the road.. one lad or lady going hard, setting the pace for the rest of them... disgraceful behavior. I dont want to tar all motorcyclists with the one brush, its people that have bikes capable of very high speeds I have an issue with... its hard to have sympathy for these motorcyclists when you hear they've have been hurt badly in some accident when you can guess that a major factor has been excessive speed.

Is there some rule in the AH charter that you're not allowed use paragraphs or punctuation in an OP?

I hate grammar nazis, but that is really hard to read (on a phone, at least).

No sympathy for motorcyclists. A shiver goes down my spine when one whizzes past me when I'm doing 100km.

My bike is capable of very high speed. What's your problem with me?

Seems to be badge of honour to travel well in excess of the speed limit on a motorbike these days

I've never seen a bike going anywhere near the speed limit in fairness, unless it's a cub50 or something.

Don't think the cameras can read bike plates.

They are allowed go twice as fast because they have only half the wheels of a car.

    Yes they can.

    In one direction only obviously.

I’d hate for you to have sympathy for me cause I’m a motorcyclist

At the end of the day will most likely will only kill themselves anyway unless its a head on and they go through the screen and give you a nasty headbutt.

There's a really instructive video out there, where a Mum has posted online footage of her son's helmet-cam (he was a motorcyclist) leading to his death, after having an impact with a car.

Having trouble posting videos from my phone, but maybe someone else knows what I'm on about. It should encourage all of us, motorists and (motor) cyclists to be more wary on our roads.

Number of deaths in them 2 photos?
the speed on impact must have been high.

Both driver and passenger in the red car & the bike rider - the force flipped the car

    dunno about the other

You're stuck in some different age.
The badge of honour these days is getting the elbow down.

    Yes they can.

Well they could if the tax disc blocking the plate trick isn’t being used, most bikes employ this trick though.

The biggest factor in motorcyclist accidents in Ireland is assholes pulling out in front of them ...

I lost a mirror to the tyre on the back of a jeep as it reversed on to a main road. If I hadn't gone on to the grass at the side of the road I would have been joined in holy splatrimony with the side of it. The guy in the jeep just hadn't seen me.
It's easy to zone out and be less situationally aware in a car, you don't have that luxury on a bike. As well as other traffic road conditions become more of an issue too. Taking chances on a bike is another level of risky.
