    Hi there,
I am having a few issues in getting spool valves off my Deutz.
Spent a few hours at it today and all I achieved was a sore finger!
The valves has spilt and I can't get the bottom bits off.
Any suggestions, have tried vice grip and hammer.

    A monkey wrench might work

It would never be a left hand thread would it??

Looks like the bit on the top left needs an 8mm or so hex socket bit / Allen key to get the rest of it out, I don’t know if lower ones have the same also. But the lower bits should come out with a Stilson wrench or similar, I think 36mm spanner fits on the bits that are left in the bottom, it seems the coupler bodies separated from these bits to start with.

Thanks for that, yes the couplers did separate on the bottom row.
Have tried a stilson, but space is the issue.

They are locked pretty tight, dont think its reverse thread, as the top row came off

Put on the kettle...........and then pour it over the outside fitting. It should expand it enough to loosen the inner fitting. I wouldn't use a stensil. You'll only break it. Can you get a socket on it?

Will try that thanks, can't get a socket on it unfortunately

I'm not worried about the female couplings, they were not working anyway, just don't want to damage the threads on the housing
