What ssd to buy for my laptop?

I've an 8 year old laptop, an ASUS X501a , intel core i3. It is used mainly for creating powerpoints, word docs etc and browsing.

It's obviously really slowing down now but I was thinking of installing an SSD to try and speed things up a bit.

How do I work out what to buy and of course, is it worth doing?

if you want to do a fresh install of windows create a usb bootable windows 10 install and run from that on the new drive when you have installed it. (turn secureboot off and set usb drive to bootable in bios). if this isn't clear google.

othewise to copy over existing to new drive need this
