Well probably been asked a 100 times but I'll ask again, how loud is a suppressed 17hmr.I'll give a bit of information on my situation,I have 2 .22 rifles 1 for lamping using subs(ruger 10/22) the other set up using hv.22 for during the day and for the couple of foxes a year I always need to shoot as I keep free range hens, ducks etc.
The cz is shooting cci velocitors and eley hv,I shoot these out to 100y and I can get on a good day 1.5/2" groups.I shoot these at rabbits near burrows as I know a body shot with these stops them dead so no runners.Anyway would the 17hmr be just as loud as those 2 rounds as they are comfortable for the animals I shoot around e.g. they are not bothered by the crack.I also have had a couple of foxes turn and run once shot most have been short 60 to 100 yard dash but a few have made it to the blanket bog and not been found.Sorry for the long post.

Essentially the same noise/report as suppressed HV .22lr. Give or take.

It's supersonic so there will be a crack but its only a small cartridge and it wouldn't come close to a centrefire like a 223 or larger.

The other up side is it'll perform better at distance than the HV 22 stuff with tighter groups although the wind drift is much the same as 22, just better elevation control.

Cheers just wanted to make sure it's not much louder than the hypervelocity rounds that I use now. Surprisingly cow's and ponys don't mind the crack but shooting subs the thud of the round hitting or missing rabbits kind of freaks them out. Also would like a little more power to be fair on the red fella.
