Lads how do you properly wash the inside of a decanter? The fecking head is too narrow and the base too wide!

Aside from getting a special brush the easiest thing is to put in some uncooked rice, warm soapy water and swirl away.

Denture cleaning tablets also work quite well.

You peel off the label from the bottle and stick a new one on that says "decanter" . Then you pour it in a glass and drink it.

That is why I don't do boom. You clean the decanter and then you almost slip on your áras outside on the 15 year old decking and the decanter goes flying.

    Stuff is shackles.

    Buckfast?
Ah memories of Galway Rag Week.

Sharing a bottle of Buckie in the doorway of Eason, with a 40yo woman named Lorraine, who was missing all of her bottom teeth. And I genuinely considered making a move, until she went off to Spar to buy us fags, but instead scarpered with my tenner.

Lorraine if you're reading this, PM me

Just buy a couple of hundred of them. One-time usage and throw away.

    Boomier than the boom-times.

True, it's just sand anyway. Might go vegan while I'm at it, it's the boom time thing now.

Pour the wine from a wineskin to show how edgy and hipster you are.

This isn't the most extravagant thing that happened during the boom, but I remember 'disposable clothes' being a thing - you'd buy a rake of tee shirts or underpants from, say, Topman, and just chuck them in the bin after wearing, instead of washing them.

It's fascinating to look back at these minor incidents and marvel at how an entire society lost its fcuking marbles.
