Good evening, my fellow boardies. I've few questions regarding CBL, that I hope someone may answer.
    1) when you would be contacted ( successful case) in regard to expressed interest on website?
    2) do you get letter or phone call from council?
    3) is it interview based? ( on some posts it seems to be that people are contacted to be braught in for interview nd never end up beeing housed)
    4) how long do I have to move in to property once its offered?

Thank you very much, for constructive answers in ahead of time :) And anyone hoping to be housed - best of luck xx

Going from experiences on here and offline most people who are successful in getting to the next stage get a phone call usually within a week of submitting an interest ,
Some might get immediate offers others will be interviewed usually involving a non council property such as cluid, tuath and circle .

Also depending on how long your on the list and need before getting through the various stages till housed

so we are in cork and were told that oncethe housedisapeered off the cbl site after its week up there, then youd et called for an interview within about 4 weeksif sucessful, then its about 2 weeks to see if you got the house after interview.

Then you get the keys about 2 weeks after that, or less. You must mov ein within 3 months is what we were told as many of us only gave our notice on rented houses the day we got our keys so most of us inthe new estate movedin 3-6 weeks aftergettingkeys, while we slowly got floors done first and got some furniture together

My case was a little different in that the lady came to our house (we got the last lot of houses before they went on cbl)
becasue i had just finished 2.5 months of hardcore cancer treatment so i wasnt able to leave the house much at the time (we got the house as was granted the highest level of medical priority as there was a very real possibility of me leaving my hubby and kids behind at that time)

she jsut asked about our income (was jsut basic social welfare as hubby had lost his job due to other illness of mine ayear previous)

asked how many kids we had, asked about pets (she saw 2 cats adn they only allow 2 cats or 2 dogs, not more than 2 pets per household, bigger pets i assume)

Asked how my health was and what limitations i was dealing with as a result of the cancer and treatment, at the time i couldnt walk upstairs without being winded, couldnt walk more than 5 mins etc, so needs a house with a back yard so kids could play and i could sit indoors and watch.

all basic stuff, then asked about criminal records, and permission to garda vet us, we signed a form and that was it.

we got the letter about 10 days later offering us a house and keys about 2 weeks after that

(she did have apts she was giving also at the time she said)

Thanks for your very quick response. I really hope you are ok health wise. And I'm glad people in situations like yours are prioritised. It makes me believe not all is that bad after all. Take care of yourself xx

Again we had a compicated situation, we had been on the list 3-4 years, and due to a miscommunication when we moved we ended up being removed due to not replying to post. ( i niavely posted in our change of address and it was never recieved)

So at the time of applying for medical priority we were o the list about 15 months. priority was applied for in jan when i recieved my official staging and treatment plan, and i provided letters from my 3 oncologists, describing chance of cure etc. (it was fairly high at around 80% but that 20 was bloody scary and i have about a 75% chance of recurrance in the first 2 years and that thankfully drops to about 25% after 2 years adn about 8% after 5)

priority was granted at the highest level about 4 weeks later and we were offered the house in april, altho we were told that once granted that level of priority we would usually get housed within 2 years as long as houses were becomming available.

From what we gathered we got bumped right to the top of the list because things were fairly bad for me and we almsot became homeless while i was in treatment
and lucky for us just as the houses were about to go oncbl, the lady whos job was to hand out houses requested 8 houses be removed form cbl so she could house 8 families in desperate need first.

And she did jusst that, 2 medical priorities, 1 couple with 2 kids living in one room, 1 couple with 3 kids in a 2 bed bungalow on transfer list for over 6 years, 1 single parent with 3 teenage kids, etc etc.
