    folks
bit puzzled my niece has just got a letter from turas nua to attend a meeting to join their program (note she did this already while back ,this will be the second time with this crowd)
what i read recently was a joint sinn fein/ fianna fail opposition motion to end referral of new clients to this bunch immediately ,they won the motion ,think 2 to 1 in favour motion gov was defeated
so when does this motion take effect (straight after the vote?) or has some legislation to be passed/enacted first. can my niece now decline the invitation without sanctions (usual threat on letter ,payments will be cut if don't comply)
thinking these people are chancing it and trying to get clients signed up before deadline(see above) your in your hooked
is there some kind of official statement about that which can be submitted to them or welfare to make them back off and prevent sanctions or person connected with the motion that can be contacted to get more info on this

The government are defeated on motions all the time and are under no obligation to act on that defeat. If they do decide to act on it, it could take 5 years before anything happens.

Alas, it seems from various statements of the Minister that JobPath will be with us for quite a while:

My Department has entered into legally binding agreements with the JobPath providers and the government will honour these contractual commitments…

I also stated in the House previously that the termination of the contracts or a step away from any of the terms of contract would leave the State potentially exposed to millions of euros...
