Does "Out of Contact" = Down ?

Generally yes, but if you've used the charger before you may be still able to use it.

In my experience it does not work.

    Northern Ireland is a shambles.

It's a pain in the bum. Those NI ABB chargers used to be real good. Wonder if they are just getting old or is it an issue with them being incompatible with some CCS cars?

Does the Rex not make it literally a self charging hybrid?

Since September 7th the Athlone rapid has been working 16days, so that's less than 3 weeks working over the last 23 weeks

Partially self charging. You'd need more than one tankful to fully charge it using the genny. Maybe if a fuel tanker was following you?

    Is there some context here?
    Map? App?

Sure doesn't but makes me appreciate having 170 Km range on battery and the jenny should I otherwise get stuck if I had BEV ! ;)

Hmm, a tricky one that, it will charge the battery a bit but it's there more to maintain the charge while feeding the motor but say if you are driving along at the battery drops to 5% it will go back up to about 8% when there isn't as much load so the Rex can dump it to the battery, it's really a marvelous piece of engineering.

I find the belfast corridor well stocked with fast chargers and there's a fast charger down from the lodge "hotel" we often stay in (Ardtara in Maghera).

There are some black spots though, especially for CCS.
