I’ve an older smax (12 years) at this stage, with 120k miles on it. I bought it not very long ago, but it’s had niggly problems I’ve fixed. Now it’s stalling regularly. Local garage can’t find why, so I’m now between bringing it to the ford dealer for repair or buying a different car. I’m not sure what to do as I’d say the repairs will be in the 1 to 2 k mark. Anyone have advise especially ford owners?

Have you googled the issue? Wouldn’t be bringing twelve year old car to a main dealer ...

How do you know it's going to cost 1k to 2k to fix if you don't even know what the problem is yet?

Id be researching ... the insane amount of money and time a few minutes on google or YouTube have saved me is mental!

Thanks all. I think the problem is the fuel pump which is, as I said a hefty charge to fix. I’ve already had it at local garage and it’s not battery, alternator or fuel filter. Reason for main dealer is that I think (maybe I’m wrong) that they’d be quicker to fix it than a non ford garage.
