Refurbished Iphones - are they worth it?

I've been looking at getting an iPhone 8 for both my wife and I. We both got the iPhone 6s back in November 2016 and the battery on both our phones is very poor now after 3 years of use.

The best sim free price for the iPhone 8 I have seen is 709.99 in Argos. However, I've seen refurbished phones for sale on Pigsback from Renew Electronics for 499.99.

Will it be a case however that these are essentially a second hand phone and after a while we'll see the same battery issue, albeit a lot sooner after getting them?

    Quite possibly.

I've seen the Pigsback refurbs, and unlike the Apple store refurbs you definitely know they're second hand. Great condition, but not mint. They also only come with a lightening cable... no plug, earphones etc.

I don't imagine they've swapped in a new battery as part of the refurb, unless stated otherwise.

Iv bought 3 refurbished iphones on eBay from a seller called Limetropic. All perfect and all still going.

My last two phones have also been bought from there and ill be buying another one soon. Iv never had an issue with any of those either.

The phones are graded by levels with A being the best. A and B graded phones do be like brand new.

Iv stopped buying brand new phones and i just buy from them instead.
