Hi I’m sowing spring wheat for the first time this year into what was a grass field. The soil is low in P+K I will be spreading lime this year on the field. What seed rate should I go for and is there any difference in fertilizer requirements for wheat I usually put out 3 bags of 10-10-20 or 10-8-21 when sowing spring barley. I won’t be putting out as much nitrogen when top dressing as it’s fresh ground

Aim for 280-300 grains per square mètre.
If conventional plough-till-sow, make sure to consolidate the ploughing with a press or ring roller before drilling, and roll again after sowing.
Spreading the fert on the ploughing before the drill or combine drill.
Swheat after ley will need about 120-145 uN/ac or 145-180 KgN/ha.
Beware of aphids especially after ley.
Growth regulator will also be required.
