TV Guarantee

    Hi Guys,

    Just an odd one.

As I understand it - some manufacturers give a 5 year guarantee with a TV.

For example Sony have the serial numbers and the set has a 5 year guarantee irrespective where purchased.

I've seen a few places offer 1 year on these but charge to extend it out to 5 etc.

The bit I found interesting was - guarantee in place unless bought through a business in which case guarantee gone but they would sell you a 3 year guarantee for 20% of purchase price.

Am I missing something here - If Sony give the guarantee then does it matter whether I purchase it or a business purchases it?

Seems a bit odd to myself.
