LG TV - Freesat

    Hi there,

I have an LG TV (product code 50UK6470) which has a Freesat tuner. I can install all the Freesat channels using autotune and selecting Freesat as the provider, however, there are some FTA channels (not on Freesat) which I want to manually install (e.g. Channel 4 HD)

Is there a way I can install channels using FreeSat and then manually adding channels from "Other providers" without overwriting what's already saved? I know I can install everything by using "Other providers" initially, but the channel order is quite messy.

    Thanks!

Thanks. Presume there’s no way of quickly reordering channels either?

not in Freesat. Freesat has its own channel numbering starting at 101 upwards and a EPG electronic programme guide where as with the FTA other providers the channels will start at number 1 but as you found out they are jumbled up with loads of duplicates if you have the patience you could in FTA renumber/reorder the channels and delete what you don't want.

I have the same tv, disappointed further with this as I have a motorised dish and when I tune another satellite the channels are added to the same list of UK FTA channels and apart from having one huge list, problems arise because some channels use the same frequencies. Have an older Samsung and this lets you keep Freesat and when tune in other satellite puts each in its own list. Thought the LG would do the same, was the one feature I couldn't check out before buying.
Have a look at this, it's a quick way to sort the non Freesat list of UK channels......

If you are using the FTA mode then download a program called ChanSort, it makes it easier to sort out the channels into an order that you want on a PC and then upload via USB.
