Hot water pump sounds like a hond 50

Recently we moved into a new house, and when you first run the Hot Water in the morning, the noise from the hot press is like someone driving a motor bike.

This lasts for about 30 secs then goes away and every other time you use the hot water, there is no noise. If you dont run the hot water for a number of hours, it can happen again.

Plumber comes along, and we show him this video, as it came mid day and we had used the hot water already.

Old Pump (ignore my noisy toddler in the background)

So he replaced the pump with a bigger unit.

The next day I run the Hot Water, and still the same.

    New Pump

I have to ring the plumber again about this, but looking from some insight from those on boards in case you came across this before.

Whats the pump sitting on?timber floors?
Is the pump piped up in copper ?

The pump is fixed to concrete. The noise only lasts 30 secs so I didn't think it was mounting vibration related.

The pipes are in copper also, apart from the pipe going to the tank on the right.

It seems to be making this noise building up pressure, or perhaps there is no water in the pump when it first runs. I don't know

What type of heating are you running.
    Oil gas solid.
    Is it a Duel system.
Is it a closed system ,
    Or gravety fed.
Or mains fed or fed from a well.
    Do you have underfloor heating??

Oil system with Upstairs and Downstairs heating zones.

Water Tank in the attic and on group water scheme (no well).

    No underfloor heating.

First check little tank in attic make sure there's water in it.
Also check it when heating is working see if the ball Cox is releasing water when running if it you have a leek some where, this could be causing the blue tank to loose pressure.
    Causing the noise.

Other cause could be the termastat set too hot so when pump kicks in the water going through the pump is too hot causing the noise.

Thermostat set too far away from the burner causing a simular problem or noise.

Check theses it will save you a lot of money before calling the plumber again

I have Nest Thermostats upstairs and downstairs for main heating but I will check the Hot Water tank.

Ill check the attic as well this evening as suggested.
