Is it possible to install a wood burning stove in a fireplace that used to have a gas fire which was terminated because the appliance was old and faulty. The central heating system is gas fired. The metal corrugated "elephant's trunk"funnel that was attached to the gas fire remains in the chimney from the fireplace all the way up to the chimney pot. Thanks for any information.
