Where do people place their tenders for main contractors to view/respond?

Any chance you could give more detail?
    What are the works?
    What documents are you providing?
    What type of contract?

    Looking for a Main contractor.
    One off house
Drawings, detailed spec. - whatever else may be required; open to advice
What types of contracts are there? Assuming fixed cost.

    Normal process :

You Get recommendations (your arch/Eng may help)
    Ring builders
    Send tenders
    Arch/eng Evaluates tenders
    Tender clarification meeting
Agree price & conditions, and sign contract - normally administered by arch /eng
    Submit commencement notice

    Thanks BryanF

The hardest part for us is the recommendations.

Can't see a way to validate/verify the recommendations.

A cursory search of builders shows little in the public domain - mostly mobile number and email address.

It may be against the rules here (I don't honestly know) but is there any list of well respected builders with proven track records?

its not perfect, but if you dont know anybody locally to get first hand recommendations, then its the next best step.

Can your arch/eng not offer you a few names? Then go and visit previous work that builder has done.
