I'm living in a mobile home since July. I use the large propane gas cylinders. The shower, cooker, central heating, hot taps are run off the gas. I am using one large cylinder a month. Does this sound normal or am i going through a full cylinder quite quickly?

There are two "large" propane cylinders, one is 34 kgs & 471 kwh, the other 47 kgs & 651 kwh.
The former means you are consuming ~ 16 kwh/day and the latter 22 kwh/day. You probably have the smaller of the two so 16 kwh/day sounds quite reasonable to me for all your needs and even 22 kwh/day isn't outrageous IMO.
