anyone know who does this and what I can expect to pay ?

I might try to get a second hand one if its too expensive to refurb, but I think it might be a false economy.

Have you looked at the brushes? There's not much can go wrong with them and replacing the the voltage regulator complete with new brushes etc. shouldn't cost much.

Whats it out of? Some cant be rebuilt now unfortunately. 100-150 is about the going rate for a rebuild depending on whats wrong. If it has one way clutch add another 50-80

Typically you can buy the voltage regulator and brushes. After replacing these it will works like a new.
If bearings are gone, it may means the end of alternator. It depends how bad are bearings. If just the bad noise and the movement not too big, you can save it.
