December/January Where To Go

    Hi.
Myself, wife and 2 young kids (one will be almost 3 and the other will be just under a year old) are looking to head away for one week either in late December or early January.
Preferably not too long of a flight and hoping for warm rather than hot weather (20-23 degrees would be ideal).
From what I've been reading it seems like the Canaries are our only real option.
Anyone able to recommend a classy resort on any of the Canary islands that would do the job?
Anything similar to Port de Pollenca in Mallorca or Santa Eulalia in Ibiza would be what I'm looking for ideally but not sure if such places exist in the Canaries.
Anywhere else outside of the Canaries that would be suitable?
    Cheers

    Would you consider Dubai?

More expensive but one of the best players in the world to visit. Direct flights can be expensive but accommodation is cheap.

I have been to both Port de Pollensa in Majorca and Santa Eularia in Ibiza. In fact there is a thread on the Port de Pollensa forum of Tripadvisor where people who like both of these places suggest similar. I found Altea by doing this. There are other recommendations. You may find the thread by Googling.
Irish airlines do not fly direct to Majorca or Ibiza in the winter. However you can get a flight to Valencia and then a cheapo flight onwards to either Palma or Ibiza.
Altea will have temperatures of about 17 degrees in December/January but it will be very quiet.
You could try Valencia city. Always buzzing with easy access to the beaches.
