Hi I have been on illness benefit for the last 6 months sending in weekly sick certs from my gp. I was also out sick for 7 months in 2014 & after 6 months received a letter from social welfare to say I no longer needed to send in certs & my payments were made weekly. I'm wondering do I still need to send in certs now that I'm on illness benefit for over 6 months or have the rules changed since the last time I was on it? I have tried ringing & emailing them to ask about this & why I haven't received payment In the last 2 weeks but I've got no response & they are not answering the phones. Hope someone can help with this thanks

you need to hand in weekly certs until told otherwise.

theres no set time that you can stop this, some people getpushed back to monthly certs after a certain time, others dont

    Have you received your payment?
I am sending in my forms but haven't received any payment in nearly 3 weeks. Can't get them on the phone and I didn't receive a reply to my letter yet.

The Illness Benefit section of the DoSP is in chaos for many months now:
