Blum Hinge

    Hi,

Long story short, have 4 attic doors for converted attic knee walls. The doors are 28mm thick and I would like to overlay them into the hatch. Want to use concealed hinges, hence I thought Blum, but not sure to go with 110 or 94, thinking 110 degree.

Has anyone any experience on these hinges? Can't seem to get the measurements right on the demo piece for the door to open fully as it's inset into the hatch with a piece on the inside of the frame for draft exclusion.

I presume the mounting plate will screw into draft excluder and 110 degree hinge will just open as needs be. Problem is that it isn't happening. As mentioned, the door is 28mm. Thickness of draft excluder is 28mm as I presumed it would need to be the same as the door to allow opening of the door.

    Should that be 18mm

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated

Not really sure what you need here...

Those hinges are specifically for surface mounting.
I cant imagine they are strong enough to hold a 28mm thick lump of wood either.

Forget about Blum hinges. wont work with a tightly fitting recessed door
tack a 15mm strip around the inside of the frame and fit the draft excluder on it.
Then fit magnetic catches on the inside to pull the door against the draft excluder.

Otherwise use normal butt hinges and you may have to put a slight bevel on the opening side, if its very tight
