So I left my previous job and Ireland in Feb 2016 and have been working abroad the past two and a half years, to which, I am back home in Ireland now and will be starting a new job soon.

I don't have any form 12 or P21 statements completed for 2017 or 2018 (as I wasn't here) should I need to complete these?

Can anyone assist to where I can get the jump on things so that I won't be emergency taxed or similar.

    1) I don't have a form 12, P21, P60 for 2017, 2018 as I wasn't here or working here, do I need to apply for them, still?
    2) My new employer has my PPS number, will I need to provide part 2 and 3 of my paper P45 from 2016?
    3) Should I get my employers registered number and input these onto my ROS/MyGov under PAYE services to update job details?
    4) Am I forgetting anything ?

    Thanks for any advice,

    1. A form 12 is a tax return completed by taxpayers and is nothing to do with starting a new job or emergency tax. A P21 is an end of year balancing statement requested by taxpayers to see if you paid the correct amount of tax, it's nothing to do with starting a new job or emergency tax. A P60 is an annual statement of pay and tax that employers give to employees at the end of every tax year and nothing to do with starting a new job.

    2. No, it's 2019 which is a completely different tax year from 2016 so keep it for your own records.

    3. Not anymore, under the new PAYE system it's the employer who registers you.

    4. Nope.

thanks for that, it seems I don't need to do absolutely anything so.

since I've worked in Ireland before the RPN should pass through and my tax should be in order
