Property Adjustment order- why not?

Visited solicitor regarding separation and she spoke about selling family home or buying ex out.
She didn't mention property adjustment order and I'm wondering why that might have been (I've called her to check; waiting on her to revert).
Could it be there is too much equity and it would be too unfair on person moving out?
I'm just curious why it wasn't mooted?
Has anyone any experience with this?
    Scenario:
Young kids who will live with me but joint custody.
House has 500k equity after mortgage redeemed. (Small mortgage )

Rather concerned that you are seeking views from here rather than discussing with your solicitor

Let me consult the crystal ball.....

    14?

Seriously though- how can strangers on the internet advise you as to what your solicitor was thinking or advising.

    Lol.
    That wasn't my question though.
My question was :has anyone come across reasons , in their family law experience, as to why a judge might not grant such an order (other than those specifically set out in statute, such as spouse remarried) /solicitor might not recommend applying to court for such an order?

If so was the reason, or has anyone ever come across the reason being, that there was a lot of equity in the house and it would be unfair on the spouse that had to leave (with essentially nothing bar the prospect of some cash in a decade plus when the kids are old enough).
