Now that in recent years Kerry County Council have managed to bypass Tralee, Castleisland, Kenmare, and Dingle, and are about to bypass Listowel, along with having bypasses for Killarney & Milltown in the planning stages, the noise is now starting about Killorglin

I wouldn't post a thread based on councillors opinions normally but Kerry do seem to be leading the field here with bypassing towns.

Neither Kenmare or Dingle are bypassed, Kenmare got a relief road basically to facilitate the opening of a New SuperValu, Lidl, Aldi and Medical Centre, Dingle hasn't had any new roads at all that I know of recently.

Dingle has had 3 phases of it's relief road built and Phase 4 is currently being built between the Spa Road and Goat Street. Kenmare got a relief road, it's what Kerry County Council wanted.

Second Bridge and Ring Road for Killorglin

Pursuant to notice duly given Cllr. D. Quigg PROPOSED:

That this Council arrange a deputation to TII in relation to a second bridge and Ring
    Road for Killorglin.

    The following reply issued:
There have been a number of motions moved previously in relation to this request,
which were referred to the TII. The TII have now requested the preparation of a Project
Appraisal for a scheme which will examine traffic movements, including on Laune
bridge, and identify alternatives to reduce traffic congestion on the N70 within Killorglin
town. This is now being progressed by the Council. This Plan will be submitted to the
TII and DTTAS for approval in Q2 2019.

Cllr. D. Quigg said while he welcomed the project appraisal he would like to see a
deputation to the Transport Infrastructure Ireland to progress this project. He said a
socio-economic plan, with 95 actions, has been devised for the town of Killorglin. Of
the 95 actions, 25 will be impossible to bring to fruition without a ring road, the provision
of which is detrimental to the town and South Kerry. Smart Village funding is being
    sought for the town.

Now with a programme of town bypasses in the NDP, Kerry County Council are pushing this with TII
