in the interests of entertainment, i was hoping for more of a contest, but sadly there's only 1 side in it and i see no way back for the Welsh.

The french must of heard you !

How did Barnes not blow the whistle for the advantage anyway. The kick was awful.

    Because he's a great referee

Delighted for Huget. Two massively soft tries though. France throwing their first half effort out the window.

"A game of two halves" has never been more appropriate

Wales seem to bring these types of performances out of France whereas whenever we beat them it's always a tight attritional affair.

As a Munster man, I’ll have to disagree!! :) but in general he is one of the better ones

BBC's Eddie Butler asks if you can hear the Welsh singing as the crowd strike up a loud La Marseillaise :)

    Incredibly harsh against AWJ

    No, incredibly stupid by AWJ

Picamoles wasn't in the ruck, AWJ has no right to touch him. Whether Picamoles would have made the tackle or not doesn't really matter

    Lol Biggar.

Real test now for this French team

It was a great kick if he meant it, found grass and was going to stop just short of the goal line, worst case scenario for Wales would've been a 5 metre scrum which they might well have taken.

Eddie Butler: "Can you hear the Welsh fans singing?"
    Paulie: "No, that's the Marseillaise".

    :D

Really odd decision to kick for goal given the nature of this game. Stick it in the corner France

100%. He knew exactly what he was doing.

Don't know how he expected to get away with it though.

    Did the French clone O'Connell?

Was he not part of it once AWJ grabbed him? Jones had a bind to the ruck. I'm guessing no :pac:

That’s 10 points now left behind by France so far.

On another day he might very well have.. it happened so quick and so close the ruck that any sort of distraction for the ref at the time and he might have missed it

The French don't fancy the easy way out.

I always find it interesting how much faster referees will call a turnover when there is penalty advantage against the team winning the turnover.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,700 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

France are still in the dressing room

And he was second man in, should have been another pen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,321 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

France have conceded 2 or 3 pens at the scrum. Interesting as the Welsh scrum isn't known for being a weapon.

Wales in front now, thanks to France.

if the Welsh had a decent kicker from the start?

France have missed about the same off the peg

Wales missed/messed up an open try.

Williams looks to be in serious pain there with his shoulder.

Picamoles hit on Williams was surely worthy of a second look?

Wales missed/messed up an open try.

Fair enough but what's that got to do with place kicks..

I was making more of a comment as to shocking standard of place kicking

    Because they're different halfbacks? :D

This game is ridiculous. It's like they all decided to start drinking at half-time.

    Madness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

Then a guy who isn't a scrum half tries to pass from a ruck......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,321 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Manky pass from the base for the Lopez drop.
