    Hi all
I have a Lack of power and "emissions garage" warning on dash on my 2008 1.9tdi BXE passat.
just got a second b6 passat the other day at good money. She has 240000 miles and sounds like a dream.
The problem is that when I start it a warning comes on dash to say "emissions garage" also when I drive it is really down on power.
I done a full system scan and the following showed up

00567 turbocharger sensor A. Low circuit.
05658 Glow plug for cylinder 1 Q11 open circuit
05659 glow plug for cylinder 2 Q11 open circuit
05660 glow plug for cylinder 3 Q11 open circuit

Glow plugs don't seem to be gone as it starts first thing in the cold mornings.
I tried to swap the turbocharger sensor (MAP) to no difference so I tried the turbo - intercooler pipes for leaks to find no leaks just a lot of soot and bit of oil. Not much.

    Any help appreciate

They suffer from wiring problems in the loom where it runs across the front of the gearbox. Causes boost sensor fault codes and limp mode. That’s the most likely cause.

Thank you George. This may be the issue with the boost sensor but I have been looking online and aloy of people are saying that the glow plugs may cause the emissions warning. But the car starts first turn I don't understand how there is a fault on 3 glow plugs.

In our Irish climate your glowplugs are doing little more than helping with emissions, the car will start just fine without them unless its well below 0. Older indirect injection diesels needed them to start but they went out of production decades ago

Glow plugs won’t cause a warning light on a BXE. They also don’t really help these engines to start. They help with how the engine runs on cold startup. So if you replaced the 3 glow plugs you would probably notice a difference in how smooth the engine runs when you start it in the mornings.
