Not being charged for household service.

I going to be a bit coy here. I haven't been charged in a long while for a common household service. I emailed the supplier about this some while ago and they didn't respond to that, strangely. I've been with them for over 3 years. I'm on direct debit and thus don't need to attend to the bills other than make sure my bank account has the funds which is the case.

In the inevitable case that this is noticed and am hit with a few months bill in one go, do I have any case to say this error wasn't my fault and thus should be let off so to speak. I repeat I did email them about this some time ago.

You may get some good will but you are liable for the service

You used the service, you have to pay eventually.
The dog ate my homework excuse doesn't work in you not being aware your bills weren't coming out of your account.

At best you'll get an opportunity to spread the eventual invoice.

You could try to change supplier though to see if your current one has didn't have you set up

I'm on ebills so no paper. I would get an email notification which is how I noticed this in the first place as I hadn't seen one on the usual bi-monthly basis.

I haven't gone on a spending spree so I'm fine for the bill even if it comes in one lump sum bill.
Mind you the longer this goes on I think the more of a problem this might become.

I'd feel changing supplier would highlight the issue to the old supplier : )
