How fix air vent on Toyota Verso?

The air intake vent on the passenger side has a thumb wheel to open/close the vent.
It is stuck open in the position shown in the attached image. Will move only very slightly.
I am seeking advice on how to fix this. The plastic unit looks like it might just pop out with some persuasion.
But I don't want to inflict damage!!!

The car is a 2016 Toyota Verso 1.6 diesel.

    Any advice/suggestions appreciated please.

It should be under manufacturers warranty or only just out. I’d try a dealer.

Should be able to pull it out from the side of the dash, Toyota interiors normally don’t normally need much convincing.
