brief background

i'm a single dad of 2 kids ( 5 and 8 )

never married

i have the kids 50 % of the time , i provide my own clothes and food ( no maintenance with ex , as we supply own stuff )

thing is she is getting the single parent payment , but i can't cause only 1 parent can

she is in a way higher paying job than me ( like double my wage ) plus she gets the childrens allowance that i get f all out of to use on kids

so................. can this single parent family credit be split ????

OFP [One-Parent Family Payment] is not payable if the parents have joint equal custody of a child or children.

If you have ever lived together you may be entitled to spousal support if you are the lower earner and have 50% custody of the children.

It could be the best outlay you ever made to speak with a solicitor....

ahh not going down that road , sure its only extra €80-100 a month

im not gonna be arguing over half that , i was just curious could it be split

me and ex get on like best mates , share all kids school costs

Are you talking about opf or the single parent tax credit?

The tax credit can't be split but she could sign it over to you instead using an spcc2 form I think

ahh wouldnt be asking her to do that , end of the day , mother of my 2 kids

was just wondering if they could be split thats all
