Rear bumper respray

Just looking for general advice on a price I was quoted after a minor tip I had. Scratched a golf and left a 2 inch scuff. Completely my fault and am happy to pay. The person has taken it to a VW dealer and they have quoted 450 for a respray of the whole bumper and two days car hire at 70 euro a day so total 590.

Is this the going rate in a dealership? I've asked about a third party but they want to go through the dealers which is their call so that's out.

I paid 300 to have a rear bumper resprayed on a car a few years back. That was from a recommended independent body shop who did a very good job. So 590 from a main dealer including 2 days car rental is probably not a bad price.

Ridiculous quote but not surprising from a vw dealer. My wife had to get her 151 golf front bumper resprayed and was quoted similar from a vw dealer. She got it done for €280 elsewhere. Don't think there's much you can do if they choose to stick with a main dealer unfortunately.

Very few dealers have a printshop and send their stuff out to a third party. €300 is very reasonable to remove and paint a bumper.
