Healthy food that you have to prep yourself will always be cheap, junk food and ready meals will rise in price, as far as im concerned its a win win for Ireland.

There is absolutely nothing to back up your statement.

Our climate is quite seasonal so we import a lot of fruit and veg. Simon Coveney has publicly said we can expect fresh fruit and veg shortages post brexit.

    Im going to call Bull****!
Plenty of cows, and vegetables/Fruit in Ireland, you won't get pineapples or Avocados, but i guarantee you will get plenty of good healthy Irish grown food. Anyone suggesting otherwise is scaremongering or a fool.

Healthy food is never cheaper. A bag of apples for a Euro or a bag of crisps for 50c.

Well would take you a bit longer to eat the bag of apples.

Having lived in America and Africa - I am sure we have some of the cheapest health food (fruit and veg) going. We are also very lucky to have a yearly supply of almost everything in the shops. Junk food should cost less - because it is junk. Get your priorities right.

How many packets of crisp will you eat in one sitting to feel full? 2-3-4
One healthy apple with get the job done, so cheaper and better for you

And apples help you poo. Crisps don't.

This fool knows a little bit about how food is grown and we have a seasonal climate meaning that we don’t necessarily have an abundant source of fresh fruit and veg grown locally all year round.
