There's versions of the website back to 1998 - although some don't work very well - on archive.org so there's some pics there

Are the two 2fm roadcasters still in operation? The original one must date back to the late 80s.

What happens these vehicles when they're retired, anyone know?

The 2FM one from 87 was used well into the mid 00s and it originally had EMT turntables in them.

The 98fm Thunderbus is currently rotting in a shed in Merchants Yard down near the docks. Spoke to the lad who fits them out, said they were scrapping it and it was in bits even when they bought it. That was a few months back and its still lying there. They have a new one now, ex Dublin Bus. Well not new, new to them!

Yeah it’s way past it’s sell by date.
It would cost a fortune to put it right. The rent down there isn’t mad so it’ll be there till we’re completely done with it. It’ll end up like the previous one, in Hammond lane. Shame it wasn’t a more popular model Scania. I’m sure someone could have done with the parts.

Wasn't thinking of putting it right, I'm in the market for a horse lorry!

The last one we had was a converted chip van! Family are handy with DIY so it's easier to convert them than even to buy one second-hand.

Well, it needs a gearbox (scania comfort box, no one will touch them) parts literally fell from it. The front chassis is bent and broken from being towed and the power steering pipes are shot. Diff is on its way out too. That’s just the big jobs. Oh and chassis rust everywhere.
As I said, it’s past it at this stage.
But you never know unless you ask :-)

Yikes. I reckon the nags will be stinking of chip grease for a little longer so.

Nah, everything now being reused and recycled. But that bloody 14 metre mast still needs to come out. There’s a days work I’m not looking forward to. Lol

A mate of mine is a Scania mechanic/fitter. I could ask him for you only it would mean that you'd probably have to drive it again if it was repaired :pac:
