    Can you one suggest a rice cooker with a ceramic base rather than a teflon one?

    Never seen one, you can get plain aluminum ones with no Teflon coating on them try an Asian supermarket.
    It’s not as big an issue on a rice cooker as a frypan as the max temp it will get to will be 100 degrees not enough to vapourise the Teflon unlike a hot frying pan.
    I don’t think ceramic would work as the principle of a rice cooker depends on a fast heat reaction time and ceramic base reacts too slowly.
