Granite paving - 20mm too thin?

Thinking of silver granite paving for path around house and patio. Seems good value at €25 m² for 20mm thick paving but my builder advises against as says it's much too thin and would crack very easily if even something fairly light was dropped on it. Supplier told me would be fine for just foot traffic which would be all it would getting. Opinions? Thanks

20mm is standard enough, get 30mm if concerned. Most likely breakage is when installing or moving them around.
