    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows if there’s a cheaper way to get a key replacement.

I lost my main a5 key a few weeks back, my spare is working fine atm but it doesn’t have a the actual key, just the fob, which will cause a problem down the line I’m sure.

Does anyone know of a cheaper method than going through the dealer? They quoted me €370 for the spare key and programming. Or is this a good price ?

The key blade is part of the head of the key so do you only have half the key?

Yea, the original key had both. But I lost that and the spare didn’t have the key blade.

So I can still drive that car etc but there’ll be an issue down the line so I need to get a new key. Just wondering is there anywhere cheaper than €370? Or maybe that’s a good deal.

I'm not too sure if they can help you but give https://lockdoctor.ie/car-keys-2/ and see if they can help.

Call into Collerans in the small crane ( beside the crane bar) they might be able to cut a new blade

Collerans would be the best bet in Galway other than the dealer. You should price the main dealer though. Sometimes they’re not too bad for Keys.

There’s also a fella in Castlebar called auto sense if you’re down that way. You’ll find him on Facebook.

370 for a new key and blade from the dealer considering you don't have one to copy is not too bad a deal to be fair.

Call Ryan locksmiths in limerick city they do alot of keys and key coding at least you'll get a price to compare to the main dealers.
