I don't think they're in showrooms here yet. A few reviews on Youtube though.

Interestingly the powertrain works the same way the Ampera one does: no gearbox and the engine works mostly as a generator, and only gets clutched to the wheels at high speed.

    WLTP killed the diesel CR-V.

The ampera powertrain is the same as a prius. There is no 'clutch'.

The CR-V works as you described but not the same as an ampera.

The CR-V works as you described but not the same as an ampera.

The Ampera has three clutches, and no gearbox. Engine is clutched to the wheels at high speed. Same as the CR-V.

The Ampera powertrain, and its differences from the Prius are explained well here:

when going above 70 mph in charge sustaining mode, and the generator gets coupled to the drivetrain, the gas engine participates in the motive force

Bit like a London Underground map, but you get the idea:

Color me corrected. I knew it had the planetary gear set. Didn’t know it could clutch it directly.

There is a good video of Honda’s system in the Accord on YouTube. I’ll find it and try to link here.

Cool video. Engine is clutched to the wheels somewhat equivalent to the ICE Accord in top gear at speed. Presumably the CR-V is the same.
