Unhappy with repair

I was involved in a relatively minor crash back in early December where my front bumper and light were damaged. I went to the insurance company's selected repair place as it was convenient to where I work. The car was repaired however since the car has come back I've noticed that my front headlight is slight pushed back (which is what happened during the crash), discoloured, and condensation is building up inside of the light.

I returned to the repair shop and they have said that the problem probably won't be covered under the insurance (I am claiming off of a third party's insurance) as the discoloured glass would seem to have occurred before the crash and the problem would have been existing before the crash.

My issue is that I disagree with this. I never had a problem with condensation build up and hadn't previously noticed any discolouration. Also the fact that the headlight is pushed slightly back leads me to believe the problem wasn't 100% fixed (not sure can it be). I also don't have any discolouration in the other light or build up of water.

The problems are quite minor but at the same time I don't feel like it is my problem and that I should have to pay. Should I insist that this goes through the insurers and if the repair place are not cooperative what is my next move?

They are saying that now because they have completed the job and been paid. They cant go back looking for more money and any more repairs would be coming out of their own pocket. They probably didn't properly assess the damage to begin with and now will do anything to avoid further work.

Get onto the insurance company. Don’t mention the discolouration but tell them it’s letting on water and isn’t aligned properly.

Get back to the insurance company as they are responsible for getting you back to the same situation as before the crash. Explain that you know that there was no condensation before the crash and the headlight wasn't repaired correctly.

Ok thank you for the advice, I am going to contact the insurance company and see what they have to say.
