Missed disability allowance collection

    Hi
Over Christmas I didn't collect my disability allowance for a couple of weeks and then collected a few weeks at once at the beginning of January.
I got a letter in the post to say I missed one week's payment and it was sent back to the department. It says the allowance has been paused until I fill in the letter with a reason for why I didn't collect it and send it back within 14 days.
Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't know what to write in it, I'm afraid it will be stopped.
I wasn't on holiday or out of the country, I was just very busy with exams and found it hard to get to the post office because I get the bus to school and live far from town.
    Thanks.

You’ll have to explain how you managed without the allowance the whole of Christmas and the new year.

You should get it paid into an account instead

I know I need to change it to get it paid into my account..

I live at home.. I don't have huge bills yet.
I don't know what to say

just explain that you were busy with exams and found it difficult to get to a post office.
you could try to arrange to have it paid to a bank or credit union account if you have one.
