Hi,hope im in the correct (thread)feel free to move if not.

Just looking for advice /opinion,im applying for a job and not sure what would be the best way to fill out the application form.
Should i fill out the form handwritten(my writing is embarrassingly bad)and id rather not.
Or would it be ok to fill it in by typing it?
However i have no idea how to go about this as im not very good with computers.

I know to some this seems a bit silly but id just like to send in the application looking professional and not something filled in by an 10 year old.

    Cheers.

You could always ask somebody else to fill it out for you? Once the information is accurate, and the text is legible, I can’t see it being an issue.

I also have horrible hand writing, looks so messy but its very readable at least. I hold a pen completely different to how most people hold it but I find the normal way extremely uncomfortable and not due to the lack of practice, 2 years in school I had a teacher hell bent on making me write "properly" but to no success.

My job involves both a lot of typing (which I'm really good at) and had writing but I have never had trouble over it. But if it does make you worry, just get some else to fill it in, in nice block letters as most theses forums are scanned and saved digitally so it makes it much easier to read in screen.

Is there an online form to fill in? Otherwise typed (type writer? :pac:) is going to look odd.

My handwriting is horriffic, and cannot read it myself after a few days. If necessary I'd write slowly in block.

Thankfully the modern world rewards someone that can touch type :)

A classmate of mine used to write by holding a pen between his thumb and four fingers, really nice guy, think he went on to work in theatre. Teachers all tried, and failed, to teach him to write normally.

If it's for an office job, get it typed - this demonstrates you can use Word.

If for manual job, find someone with neat handwriting.

The person(s) interviewing doesn't have time for crap writing.

I was told this - your application form gets you the interview, the interview gets you probation and probation get you a job.

    Thanks all for the reply's.
Guess ill get someone who can write a bit better than me to fill it in.

I used to be able to write ok,but once i left school and went working(manual)it seems i lost the knack.
Im surprised there isnt many if any courses out there to improve hand written.
