PRSI credits while on JSA

I have been on Jobseeker’s Allowance for about 3 months now. Does my monthly signing on give me PRSI credits or is there something else I need to do to get this? I worked for most of 2017 less 8-9 weeks and all of 2018 up to September last.

You needed to have been working and paying a contribution in 2016 or signing for some of that year, or they will allow some of 2015.
You don’t seem to have qualified for Benefit when you stopped work so I guess you weren’t working over 15/16.
You won’t be getting a PRSI credit now in that case

You won’t be getting credits now then.

You will be getting a credit on your JA.

As long as you don't have a two year gap in your PRSI record then you are entitled to credits on your JA.

Even if you did have a two year gap, you would have needed 26 weeks class A contributions to reestablish an entitlement to credits, which you would have.

Do I need to do anything to get them or is it automatic?

He hadn’t enough PRSI paid to get Benefit so when he left work he got JSA and wouldn’t be getting a credit in my opinion.
