I am currently on disability allowance and about to enter a part time position. What I want to find out is how many hours are you allowed to work before you get cut off from you D.A? I looked up disability payments and work on citizens information and it doesn't mention anything about what hours are you allowed to work up until.

I was told before your allowed to work up to 24 hours part time and still keep the full amount of your D.A? And there's question about your Tax

You can do rehabilitative work (which includes self-employment) and earn up to €120 per week (after deduction of PRSI, any pension contributions and union dues) without your payment being affected. If you wish to do rehabilitative work, you need to provide the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP) with a letter from your doctor certifying that the work is rehabilitative. You also need to give proof of your earnings (a pay slip, your contract of employment or a letter from your employer).

50% of your earnings between €120 and €350 will not be taken into account in the Disability Allowance means test. Any earnings over €350 are fully assessed in the means test..

It used to be around 19hrs per week if I remember correctly ,but I'm open to correction

From memory it’s arounf €400 a week before you get fully cut off. It’s graduated after the first €120

The requirement for the work to be rehabilitative was removed at the end of last year.

It's not that the need for work to be rehabilitative was removed, it's that all work is now considered to be rehabilitave. At least thats my understanding of it.

The changes which were made effective on 1 Dec 2018 were only in relation to medical card holders on DA being able to work and earn more and still retain the med card.

People on the disability allowance will now be able to work and earn more while holding on to their medical card.
From the December 1, the medical card earnings disregard for persons in receipt of Disability Allowance will be increased, from €120 to €427 per week and will apply to the assessment process for both single persons and to family assessments....

The requirement that work be of a "rehabilitative nature" for the medical card earnings disregard purposes is also being dispensed with.

There is no restriction on the number of hours you can work while on Disability Allowance - this and other details re means testing here: http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social_welfare/social_welfare_payments/social_welfare_payments_and_work/disability_payments_and_work.html
